About Paul

Paul started with his first Fisher Price taperecorder, a cassette of the Nescafe Network Chart Show and one hell of an imagination. After becoming the youngest member of hospital radio station Royal One Radio, Paul was offered a Saturday job at newly launched UKRD Group station CLAN FM, from there he became regular weekend and swing presenter - whilst at the same time presenting on Glasgow's GO 106.8FM. Paul was then offered the chance to fulfil his ambition by becoming a full-time radio presenter at 107.9 The Eagle in Cambridge presenting the evening show (7pm - 12am), the Saturday sports show and co-hosting nightly news programme Cambridge Tonight. After progressing to the weekday mid-morning show -the most listened to show on the station- Paul also became Music Manager - responsible for manually scheduling all the station music using RCS Selector and a few months later was promoted to Deputy PC. After helping re-launch the Cambridge station STAR 107.9 and launch new acquision STAR 107.1 FM, Paul decided it was time for a change of scenery and change of medium when he moved to the BBC to become Presentation Announcer/Director for the BBC TV channels in Scotland. Just over a year later it was down the M1 again to become one of the first ever ITV1 Network Continuity Announcers and can still be heard introducing Coronation Street and The X-Factor to this day. Paul is also a freelance Presentation Director and when on shift is responsible for directing the output for six of the ITV1 regions that are broadcast from the ITV Southern Transmission Centre. As well as live Continuity for ITV1; voicing promotions for the Scottish Premier League, English Premiership, US PGA Golf and GP2 on Setanta Sports, he's also one of two voices on Discovery Real Time. He has narrated a number of TV programmes for the BBC and ITV; and voiced promotions and commercials for clients such as Disney, David Lloyd Leisure Clubs, Granada Productions, Miss Great Britain, Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank, Revell, Premier Events and Travel and the Cambridge Corn Exchange. A little known fact about Paul is that he was also an award-winning singer/actor and in 1993 played the role of Freidrich von Trapp in a national touring production of 'The Sound of Music' alongside Christopher Cazenove, Liz Robertson and Amanda Holden.
